Note that bamboo coral is abundant, and is legally and sustainably harvested from deep sea regions of the Pacific ocean. Unlike the endangered Mediterranean coral, there are no bans on importing bamboo coral products in any country in the world. Naturally white to pale cream in colour, it is tinted by the jewellery industry into many desirable shades of orange and red.
